We operate our own large vegetable farms in southern New Jersey and pack and market a full line of products from quality partner farms throughout the state to ensure consistent quality on a daily basis. This gives us a huge advantage over other operations because we can certify the freshness and quality of the produce we sell. We are proud to be pioneer of the Jersey Fresh program. Our participation in the program allows us to market locally grown produce from our farms as well as neighboring farms throughout New Jersey.

Cooling is a very important part of the produce business. Proper harvest conditions and rapid cooling help fruits and vegetables to maintain their freshness, quality, texture and taste. Having the proper cooling equipment is paramount to any produce operation and Nardelli is no exception. We operate a number of coolers of various types and sizes. Below is a description of each type we use.

Hydro-Coolers use a process by which water is chlorinated and then circulated quickly through a chiller where it reaches a temperature of
approximately 32°F. The water is then circulated over the produce, to ensure quality, freshness and sanitation.

Vacuum Coolers are used for rapid cooling of field direct products. As the pressure in the chamber gets lower, heat is removed from fresh
vegetables.  This process will bring the temperature down to 36°F in 20 minutes depending types of vegetables. Vacuum                                           cooling is the most useful, effective method available today and allowing for earlier shipping and a fresher product with a long extended
shelf life. Vacuum coolers are especially effective on cabbages and lettuce.

Hydro-Vac Coolers combine the technologies used in both hydro-coolers and vacuum coolers. Hyrdo-Vac coolers provide instant chilling
with specific moisture settings for delicate produce that requires a steady and controlled level of moisture.

Forced Air Coolers circulate cool air at 38°F to evenly cool produce in a very rapid cycle to guarantee proper transportatiopn and shelf life.

Packaging & Distribution
At Nardelli we are consistently vigilant in our packaging operation to guarantee the quality that our customers have come to expect. We handle the packaging for the produce we grow and purchase from farming partners to ensure the accuracy of every order. We have a large distribution network with multiple quality control functions from field, to harvest, through cooling, packaging and distribution on our fleet of company vehicles. Our gentle hand is involved in the control of our products from farm to distribution and finally to your table.

In 1941 we began to distribute our own product on our own, company-owned transportation equipment. We operate a fleet of refrigerated trucks with daily overnight delivery to all major cities east of the Mississippi River including the provinces of eastern Canada. Control of delivery and guaranteed freshness are key elements that are equally as important as the quality and safety of the products we sell.

Nardelli Lake View Farms is a Blue Book trading member, and is recognized by Red Book, Jersey Fresh, United Fresh and the Leafy Greens Council. We are also independently audited by the USDA for good agricultural practices and food safety.
